The Fargo Theatre has developed into the region's only "art house" cinema, presenting first-run independent and foreign films on a regular basis. Its screen still blends gems from the past - from the silents to contemporary classics. The Fargo Theatre remains the only theatre in the area with capabilities for 16-mm, 35-mm, and 70-mm film presentations. The Mighty WurliTzer rises from the pit each weekend for live intermission music, provided by the American Theatre Organ Society. [less]

"Who cares if the movie was bad? i dont think that many shoppers see fargo for the neat place that it is. to many this is a place to go shopping full of bix box stores and low prices. i loved the historic district of fargo and its main attraction the beautiful fargo theatre. take some time off from the shopping and the hollywood movies and visit the amazing fargo theatre. my wife and i make it a point to visit each time we are in fargo. restored to perfection you an organist plays the amazing pipe organ before the movie which lowers into the stage when the lights go down. there is a great deal of seating and a mature audience. the second floor lobby has francis mcdormand from the movie fargo carved out of wood wood chip margie i believe her name is. a gift from the movie company that made fargo. so who cares if the movie was bad if it was the theatre is still worth going to. i am looking forward to going again many times in the future."
